I think that Lent is one of my FAVORITE Church Seasons. This is the time of year for reflection. It has also been a very eventful time for The West’s.
Bishop Duncan Gray visited our church on March 1st which was the 1st Sunday in Lent. This Sunday was a day of great Thanksgivings. We had several Baptisms, Confirmations, and Receptions. This particular Sunday is the day that Chad was confirmed in the Episcopal Church. In the grand scheme of things that means he converted from Methodist to Episcopal. I am so proud of him for making this decision.
In Chad’s honor my parents treated us, Glenda, Miller and Jenni to lunch @ TCC. We had a great time. Thanks mom and dad!
Of course it wouldn’t be Lent without giving up something. This is not a requirement but more of a choice. This year for Lent I gave up Beer, Fried Chicken and French Fries. Maybe this combined with exercise will make me skinny….. This is also the 1st year Chad has participated. He gave up Fried Chicken and French Fries. I think he did it to make it easier on me.
