3 Feet Please

On Tuesday Night 6 of us rode our bikes to City Hall for The City Council Meeting in Support of the 3 Foot Law. In total there were 20 + cyclists that were present to show their support. Mrs. Frerer and Candy Wheeler were each given 5 minutes to speak on the topic and why it is important. If you remember, 3 months ago Mrs. Frerer's son JP was killed in a tragic accident while riding his bike. The Frerer Family has been instrumental in supporting the area cyclists since the accident. The Council voted unanimously and the law passed. The 3 Foot Law will give cyclists and pedestrians safety while exercising or commuting to work. This is just the first step in safety. City Planner Renee Ray is working on a public awareness campaign that will kick of the first of the year. Below is a picture from Tuesday Night:

The 3 Foot Law will take affect in 30 Days!
Since the vote on Tuesday other communities have contacted our City wanting help to pass the 3 Foot Law in their city. One of those is Oxford, MS.
