Sunday Sermons

Yesterday Rev. Gene Asbury filled in while Rev. Paul was on vacation. Gene is who married Chad and I. He is very funny and when he preaches I laugh the whole time. Sometimes I laugh so hard I can’t remember the message. Yesterday was an exception and I remembered. The Gospel was about Mary and Martha. He focused mainly on “People are more important than things”. This Gospel really resonated with me for 2 reasons:

1. I am just as guilty as anyone else about being materialistic. So I will work on it. Chad will have to keep me in check.
2. The Gospel he preached on is the same Gospel the Book Having a Mary heart in a Martha world is based on. That book was brought into my life by Laura Hodges when I needed it most. Thanks Girl!

For all of my female friends if you have not read Having a Mary heart in a Martha World I recommend you read it. I plan to re-read it soon. Have a Blest Day!

Such a great book. We studied this in our women's class in Oxford. I need to re-read it myself too.
