Richmond
This past weekend Chad and I went to Richmond for John and Margaret's wedding! And so did a bunch of our friends from Tupelo.
We got there early on Friday and thankfully were able to check into our room. We had lunch with the Herndon's @ The Capital Ale House. We were all so exhausted from the early flight we took naps to rest up for the evening.
That night Chad and I went to Blow Toad in Careytown for Dinner. Evidently it has only been open for a few months so it was happening. (I dropped the ball and didn't make reservations anywhere and that turned out to be a blessing.)
We sat at the bar and had brick oven pizza for dinner and pound cake for dessert. While Chad enjoyed the large beer selection I enjoyed my French Press Coffee...
After dinner we went to Capital Ale House to meet up with the wedding party...
On Saturday we got up and went to Strawberry Street Cafe with The Herndon's. The Cafe is known for their large bathtub brunch but I opted to order off the menu. Portion control is hard these days.
After Brunch we went shopping in Careytown...
Saturday Night we went to John and Margaret's Wedding. The wedding was at Saint James Episcopal Church. The church was beautiful and ceremony was sweet.
After the service we walked to the reception at The Branch House. I would have called a cab had I known how far I had to walk in heals.... The Branch House is home to The Virginia Center for Architecture.
On Sunday we slept in. For Brunch we went to Millie's Diner. It was so small we had to wait almost 2 hours outside. Lucky for us they served mimosas and bloodies (just OJ for me) while you wait.
It was so worth the wait. I had corned beef hash with poached eggs and chad had a spicy black bean and cheese burrito.
After brunch we went site seeing. I bet we walked a couple of miles. Here are a few pics...
We had a wonderful trip but it was nice to come home and sleep in my own bed. Congrats John and Margaret!!!
