Landscaping.....

We hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend. This year Chad and I celebrated a little differently. We did YARD WORK aka Landscaping. For those of you that know me, know I do not have a GREEN Thumb. As a child I volunteered to clean house instead of working in the yard. Over the past several months Chad and I have taken on some yard projects that were labor intensive with no visible ROI. All that changed over Labor Day Weekend. Chad and I slaved in our yard for 3 straight days. Below you will see a major improvement. Pictures don't do it justice if you remember what our yard looked like before.

In this picture you will see we changed the shape of the beds, fixed the topsoil, moved some Hastas, and added mulch.

In this picture you see we poured a concrete landing around the drain to ensure most of the water goes in the drain. We plan to add some decorative rocks!

And finally we transplanted Monkey Grass to the median under the trees for ground cover.

Over the next few weeks we will continue preparing our yard for planting. October is just around the corner.

Allie, the house is looking great! I swear I don't have a greenthumb either. You have no idea how many plants I've killed and how many times I've had to move plants around because they weren't thriving! I had to re-do my front porch beds here in Clinton three times... probably NOT what you want to hear when you are landscaping your yard! Fall is really the best time to get things in the ground, so keep at it and I know y'all will be happy with the results.
